Developing the business case for a $230m capital works project
SPP was asked to develop a revised business case for a major capital works project for the Victorian Department of Primary Industries (DPI). This case study provides an overview of SPP's approach to business case development.
Our client had previously submitted a business case to the Australian Government to consolidate a number of State research, laboratory, testing and administrative facilities into one major new location.
The document had received positive feedback but the project had not been funded. A year later, SPP was brought in to submit an updated business case.
SPP quickly developed a revised structure for the updated document and produced a range of new materials, including a revised story around project benefits.
